Hello, I’m Michael. I am a Registered Social Worker with over 10 years of experience working with children, youth, adults, and families. I am also the founder of Journeys Therapy Collective, a collaborative community of therapists committed to providing high-quality, accessible mental health care.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with thousands of individuals and families during times of need. My approach is grounded in building meaningful connections and understanding each person’s story on a deeper level. Together, we explore your experiences, challenges, and goals through a forward-focused lens of growth, healing, and alignment with your values.
I view therapy as a catalyst for change and a space where transformation can begin. I work collaboratively with you to identify your goals and move at a pace that feels comfortable and supportive. My approach integrates Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), alongside techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and mindfulness-based interventions.
I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, addiction, self-esteem challenges, emotional regulation, and relationship concerns. I also have experience working with neurodivergence, including ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder, as well as supporting individuals exploring identity, including sexual and gender identity.
My goal is to support you in developing greater self-understanding, building effective coping strategies, and creating meaningful, lasting change in your life.

My practice is grounded in the belief that healing unfolds through connection—both within ourselves and in our relationships with others. I hold a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Bachelor of Arts from Queen’s University.
I provide therapy in Toronto for youth, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, attachment and relationship challenges, family conflict, low self-worth, stress, life transitions, and perfectionism. My approach is relational, client-centered, and trauma-informed, with a focus on how early experiences, family dynamics, culture, and broader systems shape the way we see ourselves and move through the world.
I integrate a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities to offer holistic and individualized care, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and psychodynamic therapy. I work within a systemic and relational framework, balancing deeper reflection with practical tools to support meaningful, lasting change.
I view therapy as a collaborative and thoughtful process grounded in curiosity, respect, and compassion. I recognize that many of the patterns we develop to stay safe, manage emotions, or maintain connection begin as protective adaptations that may later feel limiting. In therapy, I support you in exploring these patterns with care, helping you build self-awareness, strengthen emotional regulation, and develop new ways of relating to yourself and others.

I try to create a space where you feel genuinely understood and supported, where you are able to work through your experiences at your own pace without any fear of judgment. Therapy, for me, is about creating a partnership where we will work together to increase understanding of patterns, recognize strengths, and work towards finding real, meaningful changes that are in alignment with your values.
I use techniques from a number of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), and mindfulness-based practices to fit each person’s needs. My work is grounded in a strengths-based, identity-affirming, and collaborative approach, supporting you in strengthening emotional regulation, self-understanding, and developing practical ways to cope with whatever life throws at you.
I see therapy as both a place to reflect and to take action. Together, we will work to make sense of your experiences while building skills and strategies that support you in navigating challenges with more confidence and clarity.
I am currently accepting new clients for both in-person and virtual sessions.

Beginning therapy can feel like a big step, and I’m really glad you’re here. I love therapy because I believe we all deserve an empathetic witness to our unique life story—especially in a world that so rarely offers space to be fully ourselves.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in curiosity, collaboration, and deep respect for your inner world. I work relationally and psychodynamically, while integrating a trauma-informed and culturally responsive lens. Together, we move at a pace that feels right for you, building trust and safety as a foundation for deeper exploration. I see therapy as a space where we can gently turn toward what’s been difficult, while also making room for what is possible.
I draw from a range of modalities depending on your needs and preferences, including psychodynamic therapy, relational therapy, meaning-centered and existential approaches, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I draw inspiration from my life as a mother and artist, and my work is also informed by spiritual care, which means I am open to exploring questions of purpose, belief, and connection—whether or not you identify as spiritual or religious. I aim to meet you where you are, integrating these approaches in a way that feels cohesive and supportive rather than prescriptive.
